Francis M. "Frank" Cayou was the 16th head football coach for the Wabash College Little Giants located in Crawfordsville, Indiana and he held that position for four seasons, from 1904 until 1907.
His career coaching record at Wabash was 20 wins, 13 losses, and 1 ties. This ranks him ninth at Wabash in total wins and 11th at Wabash in winning percentage (.603).[1] In 1905, Cayou led Wabash to one of its most impressive upsets when it defeated Notre Dame, 5–0, at South Bend. It proved to be the Fighting Irish's only home-field loss in 125 games between 1899 and 1928.[2][3]
Cayou was a member of the Omaha tribe and attended the Carlisle Indian Industrial School. He played football there as a quarterback for the Carlisle Indians.
